Snowy Maine

New Hampshire may be snowy (see last post), but Maine brings a whole new meaning to "snowy." Here are some shots from our stay in Guilford, ME.

Snowy New Hampshire

We'll be posting a slide show soon about the people with whom we've visited. But for now, we want you to enjoy the snow with us! We haven't had any services canceled yet due to snow, but (as you can see from the pictures) we have been in two churches where it snowed during our visit.

One thing this southern family is agreed on: we all love the snow!

Miriam turns 4!!

On February 20th, our baby girl celebrated her fourth birthday! She had celebrated her first birthday in France, her second in South Carolina, her third in Maine, and now her fourth in Massachusetts. It was a special treat to be able to celebrate at Uncle Brian and Aunt Johanna Hanson's home. She was treated to donuts for breakfast, a wonderful birthday lunch (she had requested green beans, chicken and ice cream) and a trip to the Boston Children's Museum (courtesy of the Hansons). We praise and thank God for His abundant grace to Miriam and to us through her.

Travels in PA, OH, MI, ON, NY, MA, RI, and NH

OK. We have been so many different places already on this trip that it would be a bit much to make an individual post of each place. So we have assembled a slideshow giving you the highlights of where we've been and who we have seen. We are grateful that God has kept our van running well (we're at 213,000+) and provided for all our needs. We have made many good memories and shared many good hours of fellowship with friends. We wish you could have joined us!

Missions Conference in West Chester, PA

From January 31 to February 4 we attended the annual missions conference of Bible Baptist Church in West Chester, Pennsylvania. We greatly appreciated the warm friendship from Pastor Ascher and many of the people in the congregation. Our hosts, the Railings, were so kind and accommodating, they made us feel relaxed and at home. Here are a few pictures to give you a glimpse of our week.

Visiting Southeastern PA

We are in the last day of a missions conference here at Bible Baptist Church of West Chester, PA. Today school was canceled due to the weather. However, the ladies' luncheon at noon was able to proceed as planned and the final service tonight is still on. Here are some pictures taken on Monday in this beautiful area of the country.

Some People We Know and Love

We are presently in Pennsylvania. But just before leaving on the first leg of this six-week trip, we packed in several visits with a few of God’s blessings to us: some dear friends and family. They are (by column and from top to bottom, beginning on left):

  • Me-Ma Pahnke (Ruth’s mom) giving Miriam her birthday cake along with Oma Pahnke (Ruth’s grandmother who made the cake). We celebrated Miriam’s birthday a little early with them.
  • Sherry Thompson and Mandy Dodd (on couch with Ruth and Miriam)
  • Dave, Becky and Evan Wilbur
  • Aunt Donna (with Micaiah and Miriam)
  • Michael, Liz and Viviane Cole (our coworkers)
  • Bob and Karen Nichols and Gladys Gowan (standing with Ruth)
  • Rachel Pahnke (Ruth’s sister) with her fiancé, Jim Small
